Hi. Some really good friends of mine had saved up since January to give their disabled daughter, and her sister, a really special Christmas.
Through sheer hard work they managed to save £500 (going without themselves) and were excited at the prospect of spoiling their girls, who have both battled with disability and emotional issues (respectively) this year.
This lovely couple just wants what we all want, to give our children the best possible Christmas.
Sadly, on Halloween evening, having taken out their hard earned savings, my friends partner either dropped his wallet or, more likely, had it lifted from his pocket along Foxhall road.
I'm sure you can appreciate that this has devastated this family as a whole, they are utterly heartbroken that they now won't have the funds to put on the magical Christmas they desperately wanted to give their girls this year.
After the domino of bad events this family have endured in the last 12 months, I really think they all deserve to be spoilt. This is a couple who'd give you the preverbral 'shirt of their back' if you needed it more.
If you could possibly spare a few pounds..a pound even..so this amazing family can have a Christmas to remember, instead of the memory of saving hard and, in a matter of seconds, all their hard earned cash and hopes for fantastic Christmas being whipped away.
