Christmas Day, 2016....what will you be doing? Enjoying all the joys of the season with food, presents and the company of loved ones?
Some people won't have that pleasure.
For the past 3 years Derby in Need have hosted a free traditional home cooked Christmas Day lunch for the elderly. This year we hope to do the same but we would like to expand our guest list to include 'families that can't afford a traditional Xmas Lunch'.
Christmas 2016 will see invites sent to at least 100 guests (elderly people and families (mums, dads and their children)) to join us for a traditional home cooked Christmas Day lunch on Christmas Day.
Last Christmas Day we spent £1300 on food, catering equipment and presents for our guests and this year we want to do better, however, our major sponsors have, due to the economic climate' pulled out leaving our Christmas event plans in doubt.
We need your help to raise the funds needed to enable us to make Christmas Day happy for a lot of people. If you can donate anything, be it £1 or £1000 please do so. Alternatively, if you work for a company that would like to help (we will respond with advertising on the day) please let us know via derby-in-need@outlook.com
