In Glasgow there are currently 800 people living on the streets. Christmas for us is a time of joy and thanksgiving but for these 800 individuals without shelter or hot food it is a time of discomfort and pain.
A group of teenagers; Eimear Duggan, Helen Scott, Ailsa Currie, Chloe Doris, Emily Paton, Julia Scott, Heather Stewart, Keziah Abbotts, Erin Heath, Mili Datta, Reem Elsapa, Sarah Eunson and Sophie Baird, are going to buy and make gifts to spread the Christmas joy for those out in the cold. The gifts will include socks, blankets and hand warmers to try make the period slightly more bearable.
The girls will be doing the 5K Santa Dash on the 11th December to raise money for the cause.
Christmas is a time to be thankful for family and friends so one of the main parts of our mission will be connecting with the people living on the streets and hearing their stories.
