Story

Whilst participating in an adventure race event raising money for Cancer Research, our loving friend, Claire, suffered life changing spinal injuries. We remain hopeful that, after rehabilitation, she can regain the use of her legs however, at this time, it seems unlikely.

Nursery Teacher Claire lives on the Isle of Man (IOM) with her husband Damien, a Mental Health Nurse, and their three children. However, due to the severity of her injuries, she is receiving critical and rehabilitative care in England due to the expert level of care required.

This means she will be separated from her home and her family for a period of three to six months. The excessive cost of travelling from the IOM to the UK, including the cost of accommodation, would put strain on any family to see each other on a regular basis during this time.

The money raised will, initially, go towards travel and accommodation costs for the family to be as close as possible during this difficult time. Having already smashed our initial target of £5000, we have decided to increased the target to £10,000 and will put the money towards helping with the substantial cost of setting up a wheelchair friendly home.

Please give as generously as you can and thank you for taking the time to engage in Claire's story.
