Story
Me and my dogs fudge and benji have been travelling the coastline of Britain. We have been on the go since October last year. Covering over 11000 miles. Raising funds for MS Society and Mental health awareness. As well as getting our story across why it is so important, It is a massive challenge. I hope to gain more support and awarness of these illnesses and try and make a difference locally. Please join us in making a difference. I'm hoping to raise a pound a mile in total.
I have suffered from mental health issues for over a decade. This has been a real struggle setting out battling my own mental health and raising awareness for this. It is important I see this through to show others that no mater what they are going through they can still make a difference to themselves and to others. Upon joining the MS Society committee in bridlington I met the most wonderful people some of which were unable to care for themselves and really struggled physically. After going home I thought to myself really I am lucky. I may have problems mentally but I can still get up and about and do things day to day certainly to a better degree than the folk I just encountered. I feel the UK needs to be more aware of what is going on on the works around them and to help people who suffer rather than run away and pretend it isn't happening. There is so much more we can do in your communities and close circles to stop the traumatic effects of mental illness.
Please help support out journey it seems like a lot of money but in fact it is 1 pound a mile. If everyone donated a pound it will make a huge difference. More needs to be done round here for both charities more treatments need to be available and access to better programs regarding medication. People are put in categories because of their symptoms when in fact each brain is unique and needs tailoring to their own needs I want this made available for everyone on medication to make sure it's right for them and is making them well.
