Story

In the world's 5th wealthiest country there shouldn't be any need for food banks. There is. In cities, towns, villages and rural communities up and down Britain people from all walks of life are suffering - they're struggling to feed themselves, their families and their loved ones. In 2020 this shouldn't be the case. It is.

A vital lifeline for hard-up hungry families in Plymouth is on the brink of collapse - despite the fact more people than ever need its help. Devon and Cornwall Food Action works around the clock feeding those with hardly a penny to their name out of a warehouse in Roborough. The food bank is manned by a dedicated army of volunteers who drive out to schools, churches, community halls - anywhere where precious meal parcels are needed. Food banks and community fridges like this one are plugging the vast chasm created by Tory austerity. Now even these charitable endeavors are buckling under the pressure of our callous government.

If we all gave £2 then this food bank could keep serving its community's most vulnerable. If you aren't in a position to donate please help by sharing this post and their plight.

Thank you so much.
