    Story

We want to connect people with the work of the Jane Goodall Institute (JGI)

Our aim is to raise vital funds for JGI South Africa and educate children on the realities of the pet trade and what it means for chimpanzee welfare. We plan to do this by writing and producing a children's story book about one infant chimpanzee's struggles in life. The story is based on real life events, following the journey of Cozy who was stolen from the wild, sold into the pet trade, and later rescued by JGI. All proceeds from the book will support JGI South Africa and their Roots and Shoots education programme.

Our team consists of just three dedicated individuals; all with a background in primate care and welfare. Although the story has already been drafted, we can't complete this amazing project without your help! We are seeking financial assistance to go towards the final execution of the storybook including:

    1. Couriering drawings done by local school children in South Africa over to Europe so that the illustrators can transform their ideas into reality (£100)
    2. Design and promotion (£300)
    3. Self-publishing in South Africa for distribution (£600)

We thank you for your support and kind donations. We look forward to updating you on this project's progress in the near future

Dearest backers, We apologise for our silence - we juggle this book around our busy lives. We have made great progress! The 1900-word story is done after the Nat. Geo. education team and Jane Goodall's assistant kindly edited it. We found a new, incredible illustrator: Lena Nayashkova (www.lenanayashkova.com). Her artwork will blow your mind! And, we have contacted a crowdfunding publishers who will assist with the final edits, printing and distribution if we're successful. We thank you for your on-going patience! More soon! Jacqui and Caz x
