Weʼre raising £30,000 to fight the ship-to-ship oil transfer application made by the Cromarty Firth Port Authority. NATURE OVER FINANCIAL GAIN

Crowdfunding is the new way to raise money for a personal cause on JustGiving.
The Port of Cromarty Firth have applied for a licence to transfer oil between ships at sea 1.4 km from the shore in an area of natural beauty, rich in wildlife, archaeological heritage and the home of UK’s largest pod of Bottlenose Dolphins.
If you care about dolphins please help our small community fight this on behalf of these animals that have no say in their future. We are working closely with other community groups around the shores of the Cromarty, Moray and Inverness Firths all of whom will be affected by this unnecessary commercial exploitation. Port of Cromarty Firth will receive £800,000 a year carrying out an average of 4 crude oil transfers a month. There will be no benefit to any of the communities in the surrounding area. No additional jobs, no value added employment. The risks of oil spillage, environmental pollution and the loss of local wild life and tourism revenues are very real.
We have instructed a firm of London based lawyers to oppose this application through a legal review process and in the courts. We have raised funds locally but now need wider support to take our case forward. We ask for your support in making a donation, whatever you can afford, whether you live locally or on the other side of the world - this affects you - the dolphins of the Cromarty Firth have no say in this, help us to provide them with a voice.
Save our environment, save our dolphins. Nature not financial gain.
Please support us. We are local volunteers and we are not paid. Every penny we raise is spent working to challenge the issue of this licence.

We are genuinely humbled by your support for this cause. We know this is the wrong plan in the wrong place and continue to work tirelessly to put pressure on the powers that be to see sense and withdraw this ludicrous oil transfer application. Yesterday alone a pod of porpoise and a humpback whale were seen in this area along with our regular bottlenose dolphins. Keep sharing, spread the word. We need your help. Thank you.

This must not happen! Why risk doing oil transfers at sea, when they can be done dockside? Simple answer - MONEY. Cromarty Port Auth would risk the whole Firth to save some pennies. Shame on you CPA!

It's about time the Port Authority recognised the fact that 23 Community Councils are opposed to this. Keep up the fight.
