Curly Car's Ultra Team have taken up the challenge of the Vale Coastal Ultra Marathon to raise much needed funds for Carolyn Gammon. The ultra is a 32 mile run/walk/crawl along the rugged Wales Coastal Path from Penarth to Ogmore. Not an easy undertaking, but all for a very worthwhile cause...

Carolyn is 43 years old and lives in Cwmavon, Port Talbot with her partner Gos and two children Rudy (3) and Mira (6 months). She was diagnosed with breast Cancer during pregnancy and despite undergoing Chemotherapy and a mastectomy, the Cancer has now spread and is terminal.

Carolyn will, at some point, require life extending drugs which are not routinely available on the NHS in Wales. We are raising money to contribute towards the £150,000 Carolyn needs in order to privately fund treatment that will give her precious extra years with her family. These drugs could be the difference between Carolyn's children being able to remember her, or not.

We are a mixed group of half marathon, marathon and ultra runners who vary in experience from first-time ultra runners to very experienced ultra veterans (mostly the former).
