From mid-May to mid-June 2017 I cycled over 1500 miles from Narbonne in the south of France back to Norwich via the Alps, Switzerland, Germany and the Netherlands to raise money for Norwich Farmshare.

Norwich Farmshare is a community farm with a difference, located within the city. Farmshare members get a weekly supply of local, seasonal and organic vegetables with additional options for fruit, eggs and honey. It's a veg box scheme with a difference, as members can help to grow the produce they enjoy. Farmshare does excellent and powerful work to reconnect people with where their food comes from and applies Permaculture principles which is really important in a time when so much natural fertility has been lost from our soils.

For five years Farmshare successfully grew produce on a farm in Postwick, just East of Norwich but had to leave this site last year after the landowner sold the plot. Since then, a feasibility study has been undertaken to identify a new farm site with optimal growing conditions and secure tenure, with produce for members being sourced from other local organic suppliers in the interim.

Farmshare is now ready to move onto their new site, which is an exciting location within the ring road on a large plot of unused City Council allotments which will bring organic growing to the heart of Norwich. Farmshare now needs to raise money in order to set up and get growing fantastic chemical free and organic fruit and vegetables once again so every pound will really help!

My target is to raise £1000, which will really help Farmshare thrive as a community project in Norwich.

During my trip I traveled without a smartphone and the internet and carried all my kit with me on my bicycle - my tent, cooking gear, clothes, etc. And never once did I get off and push!

All money raised will go directly to Norwich Farmshare and will not be used to subsidise my trip in any way.
