DEAR FRIENDS AND FELLOW MOUNTAINEERS,
Recently, Kemal and I were sent an email from Daudi, who was one of the porters on our climb up Kilimanjaro 2 years ago. These were the same porters who sometimes carried up to 30kg on their head so that we had a fully-equipped camp each day. I've included that email as a photo on this group for you to see (with his permission). Daudi has asked for some help...
- He was given a scholarship to study his first year of a BA in Governance and Development at the MS Training Centre for Development Cooperation in Arusha, Tanzania http://www.mstcdc.or.tz/
- Having completed his first year the scholarship has been discontinued and he's now unable to meet the college's tuition fees
Daudi is extremely keen to complete his education and better himself and his local community. He is from a poor village near Arusha city.
I believe that together we can easily help Daudi out. 600 US dollars will pay his tuition fees, bus fares and food for his second year at the college.
Please ask us if you have any questions or feel free to get in touch anyway!
LOVE xx

7 years agoWe have by some miracle reached 42% which is so close to half of our target!! Daudi is very keen to get back to college to finish his course, he has told me he is currently helping his village to build a road and start a small scale livestock business with some goats and chickens he has invested in using money earned from his work as a porter on Kilimanjaro earlier this year
