Story

We are group of residents embarking on a challenging 'Nature Hub' community garden project in Brandwood, Birmingham, B14 6RY.

We've come a long way in the last 6 months, but most of the ground is currently a mixture of rubble and stones, embedded glass, old tarmac and broken concrete – not a safe space for wheels or feet. We've covered it in cardboard to keep back the bramble growth over the winter and want to cover areas with wood chip, slate chippings, turf and a sensory pathway for bare feet exploration! We managed to put in some paths and a hard standing area so far, but we really need to tackle the rest so it can be used safely!

Our project is already transforming an unused piece of fenced-in wasteland at the heart of our housing estate into a place where our community can grow together in more ways than one. It's a lovely project and connecting people of all ages.

Please help us turn this plot of land into somewhere special for everyone living in our neighbourhood. Thank you for reading.
