Today a Reader ~ Tomorrow a Leader

Hello, we are Romeo Bremmer, aged 15, Oneicia D'Angel John-Baptiste, aged 11 and Sheldon Barrett, aged 7 and we are all published authors.

As young authors we realise the importance of books and when we found out Deacons Academy Foundation school of Excellence (DAFSoE) needed their Library decorated and stocked, we wanted to help.

The school is incredible and 19 of their students are young authors like us and have published a book 'Deacons Ghana' but against the odds, because their school Library is very poorly resourced. See below:

Our Publisher Juliet is the Patron of Deacons and she went Ghana in the summer to launch their book. We saw some incredible pictures of the lovely students and their country but our hearts broke when we saw the video of their School Library. We thought we would crowdfund and launch it on 1st October 2023, the start of Black History Month and end it on Valentines Day and all our beautiful family and friends could show some love and make a donation to make a difference in these young lives. The more money we raise the better resourced their Library will be.

Between us we have written 12 books and we have donated a 100 copies to Deacons Academy Foundation School of Excellence and now want there to be in a space that is beautiful and where the children can relax and read. A space that has computers, a printer and a photocopy machine.

We love books and individually books have changed us so we are asking to to help donate cash, new books or ICT resources to make their Library a space where they can learn more and achieve higher.

Thanks to Olivia Williams who kick started this project with some desks and chairs from her mothers office. But we need the walls painted, the floors covered, books shelves, anything that can make their Library a place the children want to spend time in and fall in love with books. We know we can do this for DAFSoE and are saying God Bless you and Thank You in advance

So we are asking kindly everyone to show some love by donating a minimum of what is listed below

- Every Child - 'Gimme 5' - £5

- Every Adult - 'Touch us with 10' - £10

- And anyone who organises a fundraiser will have their name on the Legacy Wall inside the Library as a lasting memory of the people who made a significant contribution resourcing the space possible.
