Within days of taking office in January, the government of Benjamin Netanyahu launched an attack on Israeli democracy. A coalition of far-right extremist zealots, the ultra-Orthodox and an indicted Prime Minister set out to abolish the independence of the judiciary so that a vision of a Greater Israel governed by Halacha Law can be executed.
Defend Israeli Democracy UK is the local branch of the Israeli Protest Movement and one of many organisations fighting in Israel and abroad to maintain Israel as a liberal democracy. We have laboured tirelessly over the past six months to organise protests, Zoom webinars and community activities, as well as provide assistance to the protest movement in Israel.
To continue our activities, and in preparation for the Community Engagement Week planned for September, we need your support. Any contribution will be appreciated and will be used for the purchase/ hiring of equipment, materials, or paying service providers.
Contributions are supervised by a (volunteer) solicitor. All leftover monies will go directly to the HQ in Israel, which coordinates and supports all grassroots organisations resisting the government’s path to dictatorship. Defend Israeli Democracy UK is the only local organisation that works directly with the HQ.
Your contribution will be greatly appreciated. [Please do not feel obligated to tip Just Giving. You will be asked to at the end of your donation].
