Weʼve raised £1,290 to support Des Cufley and Emma Frost, whilst Des faces the road to recovery that lies ahead.

Funded on Monday, 5th December 2016

Don't have time to donate right now?

    Story

On the 12/11/2016 Des Cufley, a long standing member of our agility community was taken seriously ill at an agility show and was air lifted to hospital.
It is likely that Des's recovery will be a long process and it may be many months before he is able to return to work.
As expected Des's partner Emma Frost (also a member of our agility community) is by his side and hopes to remain with him for as long as Des needs her.
Emma lives over 2 hours away from the hospital, so will be staying close by so she can be with Des. The possibility of moving Des to a hospital closer home will be investigated once he is more stable. This may need to be via private transfer, which could be very costly.
Both Des and Emma are self employed and the impact of not working will be significant for them.
We ask if you are able to donate any amount to support them through this difficult time. Any donations not needed will be donated to the air ambulance.
    Agility community you are amazing!!!!!

    Thank you 💕

Des and I are totally overwhelmed by the support we have received financially, emotionally, and practically we do not know where to start and end the thanks to be honest. Des is still in hospital and as now been given the all clear from the chest infection (which we now know was pneumonia). We are hoping the angiogram will follow tomorrow so that we can finally get some information on what happened (which they now believe may not of been a heart attack) and how they can prevent it happening in the future. thank you all soon much x

Update:- Des is doing amazingly considering, he is chatty and beginning to eat and drink for himself. Unfortunately he contracted a chest infection too so they are waiting for this to clear before proceeding with tests and then hopefully an a posh pace maker with a defib to help stop future issues. He is very much aware now of the support we have been receiving and is completely overwhelmed. Our deepest thanks go to all around us for their support Emma Xxxx

update :-from Emma Des is settled tonight. He is totally breathing for himself and is swallowing sips of water on his own. They are hoping to move him out of itu and into to the cardio unit as soon as a bed is available. He is communicating with Emma and the nursing staff with nods and hand grips and even managed a smile Xx
