My daughter is seriously ill and currently under the Palliative care team at St Oswalds, with Macmillan and a great team of district nurses coming in.However there is nothing they can do for her. She has Intestinal failure with a fully paralysed digestive system resulting in the need for home TPN (parentral nutrition ) through a line into the main artery in her chest.She has central nervous system failure, POTS and spinal nerve damage following a mishandled traumatic birth of her son 4 yrs ago.There were serious complications and we nearly lost her.The nerve damage causes her excruciating nerve pain, paralysed bowel/bladder issues, muscle weakness.She was also diagnosed with a rare genetic condition which was found during all the testing.In the UK all the doctors can offer her is strong IV medications with awful side effects but her pain and sickness remain uncontrolled.She gets all her calories from TPN and fluid from drips into her hickman as she cant absorb anything.Her BMI is only 12 and shes so weak.Over the last year we have seen a massive deteriation especially after each bout of sepsis and her bloods are unstable.We worry how long she will have to see her kids grow up.She has no quality of life and kids often ask is Mammy dying, its heartbreaking.We've nearly lost her 3 times with severe sepsis/septic shock and worry the next one will take her as she is so vunerable to infections in her hickman especially, but she also recently caught mrsa in her arm iv line.Shes constantly in and out of hospital every few weeks with severe electrolyte disturbances putting her at risk of heart attack. She uses a trolley walker in house for very short distances,has a stairlift and wheelchair not that she gets out anywhere, and the council are adding sterile room.We're desperate to help her stay around as long as possible to watch her kids grow up so please help us get her abroad for stem cell treatment. If enough people gave even a pound we may just reach the target. Thanks
