Creating New Beginning (CNB) is a uK based registered charity dedicated to reducing the needless suffering and deaths of children with autism and other special needs in Ghana.

We create awareness to the general public and provide facilities for education in a school environment as well as specialist therapy and the provision of recreational and leisure time activities.

We have been working in Ghana since 2013:-

Key achievements to date are:-

- 1 building acquired for autism and special needs school at Frafraha, outskirts of Accra;
- Establishing an autism and special needs school;
- creating jobs for locals to staff school;
- sending autism specialists from the UK to develop Ghana staff in partnership with British Council;
- in partnership with British Council, sending Ghanaian teachers for 2-weeks staff development in SEN Schools in the U.K;
- 1 well to provide clean drinking water;
- 12 clean flushing toilets for the children
- Providing facilities, resources and education to ingrain behavioural change for washing of hands following toilet to stop rapid spread of diseases;
- Ongoing new build project for 100 more pupils;
- Ongoing new build of public library for the community;
- 15 seater computer suite for the children;
- 13-seater school bus to ferry children who live further away to be able to access the facility.
- building a swimming pool for water therapy on school site;
- Having the headteacher of a UK SEN school in Ghana for 3 months for staff and curriculum development;
- Going on air at community radio stations and tv to create awareness of autism and to de- stigmatise the negativity surrounding autism and other special needs;
- visiting remote churches and organisations to create awareness and give coping strategies to parents and carers;
