Help us open the doors in 2023

Dogs4Rescue is the UKs pioneering kennel-free rescue saving dogs in desperate need from the UK and around the world. We have already purchased ouright our new site, an idyllic 41 acre plot near Accrington which will become a Sanctuary and Rehabilitation Retreat for the dogs no-one wants. Planning permission is secured, conditions discharged and groundworks completed and we are now ready to start work on the phase 1 build to enable us open the doors in the first half of this year. This includes a large communal dog log cabin and secure 2 acre adventure playground for the first 20 dogs to move there.

The rescue world is experiencing an unprecedented crisis and we must do all we can to create more rescue spaces as soon as possible. But we need your help to get over the line. Anthing you can spare would be greatly appreciated.

At the height of lockdown, we crowdfunded £450,000 to buy an idyllic 41 acre site with potential as big as our imagination. With a derelict barn, house and 12 footings which all have outline planning permission we will have the capacity to house 80 dogs in the long-term. This will be a unique and much needed facility in the UK rescue world.

A phenomenal amount of work has happened over the last two years and we are so close to opening Phase 1 of the site now. The dogs' log cabin has been ordered, the fencing for their adventure playground purchased, and we have lots of companies on board to help with the fit out. But we still need help to fund the concrete sub-base their home will stand on, get utilities up to the site, make good the road up and hardstanding areas to facilitate the construction.

We are custodians of an incredible piece of the countryside and are committed to leaving large areas untouched. There are no plans for an external perimeter so our boundaries can flow as they always have. The whole of the old reservoir area will eventually become a rewilding project with a plan to help sustain local wildlife and vegetation. We have already planted 400 trees behind the phase 1 area.

Dogs4Rescue is the UK’s pioneering kennel-free dog rescue, the life mission of Emma Billington. We have developed a new approach to dog rescue where our dogs live, eat and sleep together as packs while they wait for their forever homes. In 9 years we have successfully rehomed over 1600 dogs.

Our mission is to rescue the dogs no-one else wants. We save UK pound dogs facing euthanasia, take problem cases for the likes of Battersea and rescue dogs in desperate need from around the world. We have around 15 sanctuary dogs who cannot safely be rehomed. This stable group of dogs is core to our innovative pack rehabilitation work which will soon be based at the new site near Accrington. Our current site in Irlam will then go back to being a rehoming centre.

Dogs4Rescue is a not-for-profit CIC, Registration No: 10827644
