Story
Dream Children's Home, Kenya, is an orphanage and home to 85 children and young adults aged 1-22 years which has been run by Mrs Gichia and her husband since 2005.
We have been in contact with Mrs Gichia and the orphanage and have decided to launch this gift appeal to help releave some of the pressure of providing for 85 children on a stretched budget, with the hope of giving them a Christmas to remember at the same time.
Things they have asked for include, but are not limited to:
- Stationary (pens, pencils, sharpeners, rulers etc.)
- Notebooks and Colouring Books
- Socks and underwear
- Toothpaste
- Toothbrushes
- Soap and Shampoo
- Spoons & cups
Aside from these essentials, we are also fundraising to buy small toys, shoes, tshirts and other bits and bobs suitable for children to open on Christmas day.
The more money we raised, the more boxes we can ship to the Orphanage. £200 covers postage costs and enough money to buy some essentials. Our goal is to raise enough to send a Christmas gift or two to each child at the orphanage (as well as all of the essentials.)
If you aren't in the position to donate, please ask your friend and family if they can - the spare change in their pocket can make such a difference.
£1 can buy a pair of socks
£5 can buy some soap and shampoo
£10 can buy 4 T-shirts or 10 notebooks
£15 can buy a toothbrush for every child at the orphanage
£20 can buy 2-3 pairs of shoes or 5 reading/work books
if you would prefer to donate items such as books, cutlery or children's clothing etc. then please email Danibradley091@outlook.com for our address.
