Imagine almost losing your friend to suicide?
I can’t take back the six years she spent stressing about her finances and disabled father (She's only 26). Or the trauma she went through, giving birth all alone, seeing her baby in intensive care and struggling through c-section pain all alone. Or the fear she felt when the doctor said ‘we need to do more tests regarding your heart’. Or the tears she cried through her helplessness when her roof was leaking and her baby was cold. Or the hurt in her heart when she told me ‘can I write you in my will, if anything happens to me, can you or your parents take my daughter because my dad is disabled and I don’t want her to go into foster care'
I can’t take back anything but I can at least try something for her future.
This financial aid is for one of the most beloved women in my life. I know this is a hell of a lot of money to raise, but I’m willing to keep this going for as long as it takes, because I know this will change her life. Due to many complications and debts, she is not entitled to help from the council, and receives only £20.70 a week as child benefit.
With this aid, she will be able to:
Afford childcare to help finish final year at university and find a job afterwards.
Support her university costs, like travelling 2 hours each way, 3-4 times a week.
Help raise her daughter without financial burden.
Be relieved from the financial stress that is causing her health to deteriorate.
Allow her to pay off any outstanding debts so she has money left for enough groceries and maintenance.
She usually says to me, ‘Kainat, you’re like a guardian angel, you’ve always somehow saved me’. I know one day life will be kinder to her, she will pick herself up. But, I can't see those tears anymore.
So, the fearless sisterhood in me led me to this page.
