We have started our Charity Challenge "EDINBURGH TO VT." We hope to achieve the distance of 1779km between 29th January and the 28th February, raising £600 for our 3 charities, POWUK, DSUK and Snowcamp.

POWUK- Protect Our Winter’s UK is a lobbyist climate change charity, raising awareness of the effect climate change will have on winter sports and what those in winter sports can do to reduce their carbon footprint. POW lead the charge petition to keep the Ski-train that provided transport to the alps via the Euro-star. The ski-train was a lower carbon option than flying and driving to the alps. POW have launched campaigns such a Bank Switch, encouraging people to think about who they bank with, and that often these investments are put towards climate damaging practises such as deforestation and fossil fuel extraction.

DSUK- Disability Snowsports UK operate in ski schools throughout the UK giving opportunity to ski and snowboard for those who have a physical and/or learning disability. DSUK also provide support for those who need it on the slopes in Scotland and on their holiday abroad in Europe. Funds for DSUK are needed for training instructors, providing equipment and funding those who provide help for people who need when skiing abroad.

Snowcamp is a charity that aims to increase Snowsports engagement throughout the UK. Focusing on those in urban areas, and lower economic backgrounds. Snowcamp also offers funds beyond skiing, helping it’s participants become instructors and have careers in Snowsports, who otherwise may not be able to afford to otherwise. In addition, snowcamp offers mental health and fitness training to those who take part in their programme as well as 1:1 counselling, as well as life skills training.
