918 Coffee Co are a sustainable Coffee Roastery, roasting coffees from around the world to supply both green and roasted coffee to a variety of customers.

We wanted to reduce the negative impact that the coffee industry has on the planet. We know we must continue to conserve our natural resources, and we always try to use science and technology to make the necessary changes, not only in business but also in the way we live our lives. A healthy environment is essential for our survival.

Lots of organisations are doing fantastic work in helping ensure the fair trade of coffee for the farmers and workers but little was being done once the coffee had been made, and the waste grounds ‘knocked out’. We dump half a million tonne of coffee waste on our doorsteps each year. Once this hits the landfill it produces methane, which then produces carbon monoxide, and being a part of the coffee industry we were contributing to this problem, which made us extremely uncomfortable, and so our goal was to do something about it, stop this happening, or significantly reduce it at least.

That is the reasons and thought processes that led to the creation of the Worlds First Coffee Eco Roaster.

We invented, developed and designed a new pioneering technology and process that reduces greenhouse gas emissions and creates a zero waste, carbon reducing roasting process resulting in a much reduced carbon footprint for the coffee.

We now need to build a second Coffe-Eco Roaster and need your help.
