Elgon running club is based Kitale, Mt Elgon, Kenya. Their mission statement is "to empower youth by providing better training with a life skills program that promotes positive values, healthy habits, and education through coaching – resulting in real life power, on and off the training ground." To this end, they support young athletes by providing training opportunities, securing funding for kids to attend school, helping to obtain running kit for the athletes and providing opportunites to travel to races.

The club's vision is "to create an enabling environment for the realization of talents among youth and develop their leadership qualities to make them active contributor within the community and success in their personal lives".
