Our brave sister, Sarah, was diagnosed with Triple Negative Breast cancer last week. A cancer which will not respond to the hormonal treatments available to most other cancers. Due to its nature, it will need to be treated aggressively with an immediate course of chemotherapy, followed by a mastectomy & radiotherapy. Sarah is only 25.
In the 6 days since diagnosis she has endured numerous tests & scans, with more to come. She has met her oncologist & breast cancer nurse & started to look at wigs. Due to the intensity of the chemo she will start to lose her hair immediately. Being the fighter that she is, she is getting there before the chemo; she is going to have her hair cut off, donating it to the Little Princess Trust so that it can go to a brave little fighter, giving them a real hair wig to show off. Whilst doing this Sarah wants to raise money for the Fresh Hair service at Stoke Hospital, where many men and women like she, will receive support & wigs.

This week is a rigorous diary, with more scans, tests & appointments, culminating in a chemo pre assessment & start date. Due to the fast pace it's all movin at, Sarah wasn't able to set up her crowdfunding page, for Fresh Hair, in time. She has a little boy, who is 9 months old and loves his mummy (& her attention!!) he is her priority & before she knew it, Monday was here. No page but an appointment to have her hair cut off!

So, we are setting the page up for her! She is in the salon as I type, doing something very brave, that nobody should ever be faced with doing.

Sarah & her husband Steve, along with baby Teddy, have a long and rigorous road and head ahead of them. We want to help them as much as we can and we have a plan of action all ready to go. We propose that any raised funds will be split between Fresh Hair & to help with the financial strain put on this brave family. Steve will have to take unpaid leave to support Sarah through this.
