    Story

Anyone who knows someone who has had epilepsy knows only to well how distressing it is for both the sufferers and their families in the onset of seizures.
However some patients are suitable to have surgery that can often completely stop their seizures or at least improve the amount of seizures a patient has.
This type of surgery requires lots of specialist tests needing both specialist equipment and staff which ultimately puts strain on funds all the time.
Because of this we want to provide assistance to these funds by providing our own so delays in treatment can be avoided due to lack of funds.
One example of this is some local health authorities may refuse to pay for patients to have some specialist tests in private clinics which is when our funds could be used while specialist centres negotiate with health authorities.
This could ultimately mean patients get tests sooner and minimise unnecessary delays.
Other support could be to help replace hospital equipment and provide funds to support our work to help raise positive awareness.

On Facebook we are a network of friends who help each other through the long journey of surgery and to raise these funds we encourage members to come up with their own funding initiatives which helps raise positive awareness and vital funds no matter how small.
If you or anyone you know would like to support us please do let us know and we will support you as much as we can.
All funds stay where they are until funding requests are received when members of the group vote which requests to support most.
We believe by doing this it gives members a chance to say where their donations go giving them more reasons to be proud to be members of the group and increase our positive awareness.

I began our group as my way of saying thank you to all health professionals and supporters that made surgery a success for me. I had surgery in 2002 and life has been awesome ever since so it's now my pleasure to help others seeking the same journey make theirs an equal success.
