I've raised £5000 to as a community food store we want to raise funds to help our members struggling with the cost of living

the Evelyn Community Food store is a constituted social supermarket serving the communityn for over 4 years. We have never seen such a demand for food as we have this past 8 months. Families are really struggling and getting desperate. The money would go towards food top up ‘s and christmas hampers. We are fully aware that it will not put an end to the food poverty, people are experiencing but it might help families direct their money else where. Being able to buy in bulk allows us to purchase food cheaper thus saving money. We have families from all walks of life and all have different needs. It is a distressing reality faced by millions. The people we have on our books have inadequate access to sufficient nutriticious food which is required for a healthy and active life. It is a multidimensional issue that encompasses various socio-economic factors, including income inequality, systemic poverty, and unequal distribution of resources. The profound impact of food poverty on individuals, families and communities can leave lasting scars not only on individuals’ mental health, but as a nation where we are faced daily with food poverty which represents a complex and urgent crisis.
