Please watch the video here - Samuel's Rollathon Video

Samuel has been training in our kids classes since July 2022, he loves training BJJ and it has helped improve his mobility and coordination.

We are inviting all our members to join us in a 24hr roll-a-thon to raise money for Samuel’s ongoing costs in assisting him on his journey to learn to walk, run, jump and give him the best chance of an independent life.

We start at 0900 Saturday 11 May and finish at 0900 Sunday 12 May at Factory BJJ.

Samuel’s Story

Samuel is our happy gorgeous 6 year old from Stockport and he has cerebral palsy. We were told he would not walk when he was 1 as he hadn’t hit the typical milestones. Since then Samuel has done different types of therapy everyday like hydrotherapy, BJJ, horse riding, physiotherapy, dmi Galileoto defy that diagnosis.

Samuel had a life changing spinal operation in 2022 called SDR at Alderley Hospital to enable him to take his first unaided steps at home which we are now trying to work on and build strength, core muscle control and most of all balance.

Samuel's therapy isn't funded by the NHS and is quite costly each week. Then the equipment he needs runs into the £1000’s and we have to fund raise each year to make sure he can have all the opportunities available to give him the best chance of independence.

We have a small window of time to increase his independence after the operation.

We are fundraising for intensive therapy costs and specialist equipment to help Samuel reach his goal of being as independent as possible and being able to jump in muddy puddles! Which has been a dream of his for some time.

We thank you for all your continued support on our journey and sending you all lots of love from the Grimes family.
