** Update Dec 2023

Faye completed her Radiotherapy treatment in September - 28 days of treatment over 6 weeks at The Christie in Manchester. She was a superstar! Faye is now back at home having Maintenance Chemo given both daily at home by us (her parents) and weekly in Alder Hey. We have has positive news from her latest MRI which has shown further shrinking of her lump. Faye has further surgery planned for mid December (her 8th operation since March) and is suffering some side effects from both Chemo and Radiotherapy. She is still loving making Fairy Potions and recently took part in a local charity night raising over £1000 for Alder Hey. She is planning on selling more potions at her school Christmas fair. We thank you all so much for your love, kind words and support. There is at least 6 more months of treatment ahead - possibly a year - and the possibility of more surgery to follow. She has loved reading your comments and this support has really made a difference to us all! Thank You :)

**Faye's Story**

In March 2023 Faye was diagnosed with a rare childhood cancer - Rhabdomyosarcoma - a rapidly growing tumour in her tummy. Around 55 children a year in the UK are diagnosed with this cancer. We started chemotherapy treatment in Alder Hey straight away but due to a number of issues caused by her cancer Faye remained in hospital for 3 months, needing a number of procedures in theatre and TPN nutrition on a daily drip.

After 90 days Faye was discharged from her full time hospitalisation. On 13th July Faye underwent major surgery to remove her tumour. After 13 hours Faye was sent to ICU and we were told that, despite best efforts, the surgery had been unsuccessful and her tumour remained. Following surgery Faye battled sepsis and needed further emergency surgery. It is fair to say she's had a very rough ride but despite this she has continued to amaze us with her ability to smile as soon as things feel a bit better.

Faye has decided to sell Fairy Potions locally. She has been making these in between her treatments and has set up a pop-up shop to sell them to our friends and neighbours. She has begun to sell these locally with funds going to the ward that has supported her (and us) so well. We want to support Faye in her venture to raise as much money as possible.

***For those donating for potions they can be collected from HK Interiors on Aigburth Road or Enchanted Souls in Bootle.***

In August Faye's treatment will intensify as she must move to Manchester for Radiotherapy. This treatment will take place daily for 6 weeks and will require another long stay away from home.

Although we remain hopeful Faye's treatment will be successful the future is very much unknown. Chemotherapy and Radiotherapy both come with significant and severe long term side effects, so Faye's future is likely to look different from that which we expected. We would love to make sure we had funds to support Faye during and beyond her treatment to ensure her future is as bright as possible - and certainly as bright as she is.
