Weʼve raised £208 to help fund Fazer, the ex Met police dog's vital vetinary treatment to avoid him having to be destroyed as the Met don't as yet have funding.

    What is crowdfunding?

Crowdfunding is a new type of fundraising where you can raise funds for your own personal cause, even if you're not a registered charity.

The page owner is responsible for the distribution of funds raised.

    Story

Fazer was born in 2009 bred by West Midlands Police. He was bought by the Metropolitan Police in 2010 and was allocated to me. I had been a handler for 12 years and worked 3 dogs.
We were posted to South West London and he worked well, for a young dog, finding over thirty offenders and items of property. In August 2011 a riot broke out in London which lasted for 5 days. Fazer was at the front line of this in the first few days. We worked 16 hours a day at times coming under attack from bricks and bottles. Our first day we were in Peckham, South East London, and had to protect the Fire Brigade as they battled shop and house fires.
Fazer joined the elite of the Metropolitan police dogs. He trained and qualified as a Trojan support dog working with the Counter Terrorism fire arms team and the armed response officers. Fazer also works as a normal general purpose dog.
Shortly after this Fazer developed a skin issue. This was treated over several years with different drugs however none were really successful in managing the issue. That was until about two years ago when we tried Atopica . This has truly been the saving of Fazer’s career as it has allowed him to work normally and has managed the problem better than any other medication.
Fazer lives at home with me and my family, my wife and three children. I retired last year & took Fazer with me to live out his retirement in the family environment. Due to Fazer’s skin disorder, and the cost of the drugs he is on, I will be unable to offer him that retirement that he has worked hard for due to the fact my income will drop by 50%.

The other option is that I return him to the Met where he will be put to sleep!! The Met do not have the funding to support ex Police dogs; he has passed his working age & cannot be rehomed elsewhere du to his training!

PLEASE HELP A DOG IN HIS HOUR OF NEED THAT HAS HELPED SO MANY PEOPLE IN THEIRS!

My good ex school friend, Sean Kelly, is Fazer's Daddy....we were reunited May 2016 when I got on board to help organise a Charity 80's School Reunion which happened a year later (May 2017). Sean asked me to put my fund raising skills to good use again for Fazer.
