3 Days Of.... Feeding Coventry. On the 24th, 25th & 26th of April I will be going on a food run feeding and speaking to the homeless.

The number of homeless adults in Coventry is at least three times higher than the national average, with an estimated figure of 1686 homeless people.
Homelessness in Coventry has increased by almost 50% in the past year, with local authorities from major cities relocating families outside of the city due to a rise in homelessness and housing benefits cuts. Slowly but surely Coventry will be known for the new "homeless hotspot"

Coventry council do offer support for those who are risk becoming homeless, but it is very . On their site "Please remember that we are responding to a crisis situation. We therefore have to rely on emergency accommodation which can be anywhere in the city. We realise the difficulties this can cause with schooling, employment etc, so making a homeless application should be seen as a last resort.
With the large scale of homeless adults in Coventry it has become more difficult for Coventry council to 1. Provide fixed accommodation 2. Attend to each individuals need, offering them the right amount of support which solves the ultimate problem of being homeless.

Our Objectives:
You will find that not all homeless people want you to donate them money and leave, some may want a lot more. Studies show that 42 per cent said help finding a job, 38 per cent said finding housing, 30 per cent said money, 13 per cent said training or medical care.
On our run we will be providing, Low fat/Low sugar/Easy to open food/Pet food (estimated at around 10% of homeless people move with pets).
