Story
In 2008 my 15 year old daughter Scarlett Keeling was murdered in Goa.
The police and Government in Goa tried to cover up the murder saying it was a drowning accident and denying there was injuries to support my claim she was murdered. Scarlett grew up swimming in the sea off the coast of Cornwall and Devon and was a strong swimmer who respected the sea.
While on my way to the place she was found three days later I found Scarlett's underwear and sandals on the beach, one of the sandals were broken. I was then told by the boys in the shack near where she was found that she was raped and murdered.
I then met the hero of our story Advocate Vikram Varma who over the last nine years has committed to guiding and supporting us during this long struggle for justice and more.
After two weeks we managed to gain entry to the morgue and photograph Scarlett's injuries, We had to publish these before the police ordered another autopsy and filed a murder case. After a botched investigation by the police the case was handed over to the CBI, India's top investigation team. The government delayed the handover for several months , long enough for evidence to be destroyed.
Out of all of the people involved in Scarlett's murder and the cover up only two were brought to court and not surprisingly they were acquitted.
The CBI have announced they are going to appeal the acquittal at the high court in Mumbai. I think this is my last chance to find witnesses that saw Scarlett on the night she died, there are too many gaps.
I will also need to return to Goa for the end of the appeal as being in Goa brings a different energy to the case. I am not prepared to give up on Scarlett , she was a good girl who enjoyed and was looking forward to her life. If we succeed in getting justice for Scarlett we will be the first . This will open the gateway for others who I am in contact with who have also had loved ones murdered in Goa and been treated appallingly by the authorities.
I just want the truth

7 years agoI will be getting together with other families that have had loved ones murdered in Goa this weekend to offer support and share information. Also to raise awareness that it is not just women that aren't safe in Goa and that until the rotten corrupt core is removed ,no one is really safe in Goa

I am 53 and the mother of nine children. We have lived off grid now for 15 years in the beautiful county of Devon bringing my children up to spend time outside playing rather than on the internet. We have chickens, bees and horses and produce as much of our own food as we can.
