Story

In July 2022, we set up a Just Giving page for our precious and courageous little superhero, Ethan. The purpose was to raise funds to support Ethan and his family through his treatment for a rare and very aggressive form of cancer. Ethan was only 5 at the time.

Despite the bravest of fights from Ethan every step of the way, it is with broken hearts that almost 2 years later we are reaching out again, this time to help the family pay for Ethan’s funeral. We’d also like to give Kimberley, Fraser, Harvey and Ronan the financial breathing space they need for the next few months as they come to terms with their devastating loss.

I cannot comprehend what it must be like to have to deal with losing your child. Unfortunately, on top of that, comes a lot of financial stress too. Ethan’s hospital visits were relentless and unfortunately Kimberley had no option but to stop working after he was diagnosed. The funds we raised in 2022 were very quickly eaten up and they have survived with some benefits and support from charities. Unfortunately that financial support has now also come to an end. They had hoped some charities might be able to help cover the parts of the funeral not covered by the government but they have now discovered that is not the case, although they are so grateful for the support they are receiving from them in other ways.

We are hoping to raise around £4,000. This will help Kimberley and Fraser give Ethan the send off he so deserves, surrounded by the family and friends that loved him so very much. It will also give them some time for Kimberley to find work again and for the family to get back on their feet by covering the significant financial deficit they now face every month, all whilst dealing with the heartache of having lost their amazing boy.

Thank you again for your understanding and generosity
