Hi, Im Shane, Im 23, and Id like to raise money to fund an electric wheelchair and private medical investigations for my twin sister Paige. She has been unwell for a few years, but since September 2016 she has deteriorated quickly, from being able to walk 1 mile unaided to being wheelchair bound.
Paige has Fibromyalgia, Osteoarthritis in both knees, Undifferentiated Connective Tissue Disorder, Lumbar Lordosis, Chronic Mechanical Back Pain, and Conscious Seizures. Her conditions cause severe widespread pain and weakness throughout her whole body. She also has Severe Migraines, Anxiety, and Depression.
she had a seizure on 30/05/17 which left her unable to speak properly; she now talks with a bad stutter that takes so much out of her that she tries not to talk. Paige is wheelchair bound due to constant pain and weakness in her whole body, and struggles to move due to uncontrollable shaking when standing.
Most of the time Paige is house bound as she lives in a flat with no disability access. Most days she relies on her partner to help her move around their flat, even to go to the bathroom as she doesn't have the strength to propel her wheelchair or strength in her legs to hold her up for more than a few seconds. she only leaves the flat for appointments and occasional day out because she’s in too much pain to use the stairs.
The doctors don’t know why she has gone downhill so quickly, or why her whole body shakes. I’d like to raise money for Paige to have private investigations to find out what’s wrong.
We don’t know if Paige will ever get better, but if we can raise money to get her an electric wheelchair, she’ll be able to move around more freely which will help her regain some independence.
