Story

My name is Frankie Dwan. I’m 21 years of age and I live in Lydiate, Liverpool. For the last 4 years, I have struggled with mental health, often not talking about it, which caused my problems to seem bigger and bigger. My mental health issues got worse after a close friend was killed in July 2023, and this spiral in my mental health, has caused major worries for my friends and family. I am now having counselling with Rise Up Sefton which I am seeing as the start of a new beginning. To help with my thought processes and overthinking, I am keeping myself busy after work and at weekends, walking and keeping fit. To give myself a stronger focus, I am setting myself a challenge to walk up Snowdon with my dad, twice on two consecutive days during the month of March and would also like to use this challenge to raise money for Sean’s Place Liverpool as they work hard to help lots of men with their mental health. Please help with my fundraising if you can and please speak out to your friends and family if you are struggling with mental health challenges. Men need to talk more! If you want to know more about the charity that I am raising money for, this is their website. seansplace.org.uk.

Thank you for your support. Frankie
