    Story

Adlington Library (and the services it provides) is being closed by LCC. We hope to raise enough money to set up an Independent Community Library in the building and in addition a Heritage Centre and Meeting Room for local groups, and a Community Cafe. A place for the local residents to meet and join together in the hub of the town, a community assetforallfuturegenerations. The Friends of Adlington Library Committee has approved this JustGiving/Crowdfunding project. We are working in association with Chorley Borough Council.
We have had good news regarding the library. CBC will be funding the library until March 2018 after that FoAL will take over the running of the library. LCC's running costs are £18,000 a year, this gives us 16 months to have the funds in place to carry on providing a library service with a Community Library.

Many thanks to our supporters. Some wonderful donations have been added in the last week. All very much appreciated. Our goal of having a library for the community, run by the community, is getting nearer.

Thank you to all our supporters. A smashing amount raised so far, but still a very long way to go. Dont forget the Roald Dahl Event at Adlington Library on Saturday 17th September at 10am.
