Pott Shrigley Church Primary School is this year celebrating 525 years of providing an education to the children of Pott Shrigley and surrounding area. This designated small rural primary school faced the heart-breaking possibility of closure at the end of 2016. The threat had a devastating impact on pupil numbers which saw a decrease of almost 50%.

Parents, Teachers, Pott Shrigley Village Hall, St Christopher's PCC and the local community understand that the school is at the very heart of the community and is vital to its long-term future. As a result, we came together in support of this beautiful and historic school and were ultimately successful in stopping the proposed consultation process. We are now working together to improve the facilities in order to re-build pupil numbers, ensuring the long term future of our school and community.

It is our aim to ensure that the rich heritage and spirit that has been a cornerstone of our school and community for hundreds of years past, is preserved for many generations to come.
