Weʼve raised £1,304 to help fund local park

    Story

Dunedin park in East Kilbride is over 50 years old and has received little funding or attention from local authorities over the years. Funding is limited but there is match funding schemes available. If we can raise funds the local authority will match the funds raised and possibly more to support the projects much needed to develop the park into a safe and attractive environment for all. Friends of Dunedin Park Committee was set up in 2019 to give the locals a voice and for the committee to agree on priority projects for the park. We have a set up this just giving page to raise £6000 which with help kick start the match funding route. We will be organising fund raising events in the near future, go to our facebook page Friends of Dunedin Park for event details and updates on the parks progress. Thank you so much for your generosity, Friends of Dunedin Park

Our 2nd family fun day was a great success with even more stalls and games for all ages to enjoy. We raised £1500 on the day with donations still coming in….a fantastic achievement. Thanks to everyone who volunteered, to all the business and services who provided great attractions and to all the visitors on the day. We couldn’t have done it without you! Please follow us on Facebook for updates on the park.

So far, our partnership with South Lanarkshire Council has created three new wildlife areas, a fairy garden for younger visitors to the park, improved seating, new litter bins, safer pathways and community events. Membership of our community group has doubled recently. In the future we are working in partnership to improve play and exercise facilities in the park, cycle and pedestrian access and will be planting 450 trees later this year. See our Facebook page for updates on future events. Thank you for your continued support.
