On Sunday 11th December my Grandfather, Eric Spencer Hargreaves passed away after his battle with Blood Cancer. He was father of Ann, Father InLaw to Sandy, Grandfather to Philip and Matthew and also Great Grandfather to Faith, Sam and Spencer.
Eric was known and very well loved by all who ever got to meet him. In 1998 Eric lost his wife Eileen also to Cancer and as a result he lost his sight due to stress. He became a member of Southport Blind Aid and made some very good friends. Before losing his sight he had fought in WW2 in the Welsh Guards and followed this with a long career as a Plumber at Hilsdons and then formed 24hr Plumbing.
Sadly when Eric passed away he did not have any life insurance or savings and due to struggling circumstances finding his care during his battle with Cancer, his family also have been left with no funds at all and have been told that no Government Funds are available to us.
I myself have battled with previous employers to help support his care which led to my dismissal from two employers and being diagnosed with Depression due to my struggle to support and try to fund his funeral myself.

Eric's Daughter Ann is now devastated at the loss of her father and now with all the stress of bills for care and now trying to find money to fund his funeral.
She is a very self confident woman and has maintained that she did not want to "beg" for money.
I need to help and just ask for you to give what you can to help us say goodbye to an amazing man no matter how small an amount.
