Story

This is the updated page for Gunjur Dog Patrol (previous page) Thanks to all those that have helped us raise money so far and to those that give monthly. All donations go directly to support local dogs in and around Gunjur in The Gambia.

Our dog patrol rangers (Lamin, Blaise and Ajie) cycle into the communities in and around Gunjur everyday to treat dogs and talk to their owners about how to prevent future issues. They have become well known loally and now receive phone calls when there are dogs needing our help.

We also hold neuter clinics to help reduce the number of unwanted pregnancies and vaccination sessions. All together this vital support prevents suffering and creates a healthy dog population.

Your money provides vital medical supplies to enable Lamin, Blaise and Ajie to do their work. In an average week they meet around 60 dogs and treat around 50 of them for a variety of issues like skin problems, wounds and mango worms. We have an Amazon Wishlist for those that would rather purchase much needed supplies directly.

Our target is to neuter 50 dogs over the next year and if we achieve our fundraising target this will be one of our priorities. In addition we are committed to holding workshops and encouraging young dog owners to learn how best to care for their dogs and puppies.

There is more information on our Website and Facebook page.
