What is crowdfunding?

Story
I'm fifteen and have always had a dream to make a gmod server and I have never had enough money I got clothes for Christmas and some money I wanted to be able to host a server but it costs 20 pound a month it would mean a great deal to me if you could help me out and I hope you donate thanks ..
