This page has been set up to create a practical way that the community friends and family of Gabriela can support her and her recovery.

Gabriela has been in hospital now since the 5th of July, 2016 (4 months and counting). At 11 years old, she has spent the last 6 years in and out of hospital with her debilitating bowel condition. She is a fighter, she has been significantly unwell over this time but continues on with the love and support of those around her, through the pain, illness and trauma. This current admission has created further angst and complications and is having a significant impact on her mental well-being.

More recently, during this latest hospital admission, Gabriela was admitted to ICU in septic shock. She was put in an induced coma on life support. It began a grave situation where her prognosis and life hung in the balance. We are so thankful she is past this critical juncture and are committed to supporting this family in their recovery from a horrendous ordeal.

At this stage, her future length of stay in hospital is unknown. With the uncertainty of this and whats next for Gabriela, we want to create an opportunity to give her a lift and something to look forward to.

Your donations will be used to fund mental respite opportunities for Gabriela. This could look like short term goals; a few hours out of hospital at a show or concert of her choice once she is well enough to manage, to a more long term plan of a well deserved and much needed holiday for Gabriela and her mum.
