Hello and welcome to my world! My name is Gabriella Hope Stearne and I was born on the 8th of May 2015.I am now one year old and have finally managed to start to enjoy life. Everything wasn't so simple for me when I was born into this world.You see I was born with Scimitar Syndrome, TOF (Tetralogy Of Fallot a heart condition) and one lung. This has seen me have multiple surgeries and one operation to have a prosthetic lung implanted; this helps with the positioning of my airway and will also prevent a curvature in my spine as I grow older. This prosthetic lung needs enlarging every so many months to match my growth rate and will involve a hospital stay.I was born in Norwich Hospital and at first doctors did not realise the extent of my conditions and allowed me home. However, as I became more poorly it was apparent that I could not stay at home and I was rushed to Great Ormond Street Hospital for a second time in September 2015 and have stayed there in and out of intensive care. I have had so many ups and downs but to everyone's shock and amazement my family and Doctors tell me that I am doing fantastically and making everyone super proud of me every day.I am thankfully due home. This would be super exciting not only for me but for my family. However we cannot all fit in our small car safely, I have to be ventilated 24/7 via a tracheostomy which is attached to lots of machines. This helps me breathe due to being diagnosed with Bronchomalacia; this is where my bronchial tubes are floppy due to the many operations I have had. The machines take up so much room that I will be house bound and only have access to the outside world via being in my pram. I require 2 whole car seats to myself and also need a fully trained adult in the seat next to me at all times. As well as mummy and daddy I have 2 big sisters therefore for me to enjoy the outdoor world and family time together means we need a bigger car. We appreciate all donations thank you for your support.
