    Story

We are two young people, 17&16, who are fundraising to go to Gambia in April 2017 in order to assist with developing a local school there. We will be painting, decorating helping to teach the children things from England. This will be a great opportunity for us and the children in Gambia, as both parties will be learning constantly about English and Gambian culture. As scouts, we will also be visiting a local scout group in Gambia to see what is different there and to swap ideas and items for our group back in England. Both of us who are going are passionate about this trip and really want to get the most out of this experience for everyone involved, mostly the Gambian children and families we will help as a result of our work there. Education is crucial in places like Gambia and therefore our work will greatly increase their chances in life as a good place to go to school will help them academically.
