Story
The LGBTQ+ community has had many victories in recent years, from equal marriage to increased protections for Trans people, and access to PrEP on the NHS.
However, we still have a long way to go. Stigma towards Trans people is increasing, too many young people continue to be diagnosed with HIV, and many people either face discrimination or are too scared of it to come out at work.
We wish that we could solve all of that by ourselves, but we can't. That is why our organisation, the GMA, will direct our resources to support whichever section of our community needs the most help at the time. We commit to spend a minimum of 50% of our charitable giving on causes affecting gay men, with the remainder (up to 50%) supporting the wider LGBTQ+ Community.
As well as accepting donations, we will also be holding fundraising events (more details will be published nearer the times) to help support the causes closest to our hearts. To make the biggest difference to the most people, our organisation is working towards Registered Charity status, however, we're not there yet.
