Gerry Jones passed away on the 23rd October 2016 after very short battle with cancer. Since retiring from many years in the Coventry car industry, Gerry was based happily in Northumberland and continued to live with the energy and conviction those that have known him through his life will recognise. He will be missed by both family and many friends.

Gerry was active in recent years and worked for the Citizens Advice Bureau Northumberland, dispensing valuable knowledge and advice to those in need in rural Northumberland. He was also a founder of the Berwick Migrant Worker Support Group and continued to be a driving force in helping and empowering migrant workers in the local area up unil his death.

Throughout his life, be it via political activism or managing youth football teams, Gerry cared for people and dedicated his life helping and improving lives.

Gerry's funeral will take place at 10.30am on the 5th November at Houndwood Crematorium (near Eyemouth). The family request no flowers but would be grateful for a donation to support the continuation of his two great passions from this later part of his life;

Gerry was a loving father, grandfather, brother and uncle. He was a dedicated friend, comrade and colleague to many. He would be proud to know that upon his death those people touched by his energy and passion contributed to these two causes that that were of great importance to him.
