I am raising £3795 to go on a trip to Borneo in July 2018 with the World Challenge Team. This expedition will challenge my abilities whilst working with the community, carrying out conservation work and personal challenges including a 3-5 day trek through the rainforest and up Mount Kinabalu. I am passionate about the environment- over the last 40 years Borneo has suffered from devastating effects of deforestation with a significant loss of rainforest- this expedition would give me the opportunity to help reverse the effects of this in a beautiful part of the world through becoming involved with conservation initiatives.
This expedition will be a challenging and exciting adventure that will support me as an individual to develop new skills and will help enrich the lives of others and myself. I will be assisting with community projects; whether this is in the local school, church or other place it would be a privilege to be able to actively participate and contribute to this. The World Challenge expedition will be a physically and mentally demanding trip where I will be away from home for 30 days but it will be totally worth it. This expedition will help me grow and develop as a person whilst supporting worthwhile projects. Ultimately, the experience will stay with me forever and will promote positive change in an amazing country.
Crowdfunding is one of many ways I am raising funds to take part in the expedition. All of the money I raise will go towards getting me to Borneo with the total cost being £3795. Other things that I will be doing include working part time doing odd jobs for people, organising fundraising and sponsored events on my own and with others who will be going. Raising the funds will be a challenge in itself and I will work hard to raise the funds I need to get to Borneo. This is a once in a life opportunity for me and I am very lucky to be one of 30 pupils chosen to go on this life changing experience BUT I cant get there with out your help!
