Story
Hi everyone,
On the evening of Friday 22nd December, my parents were involved in an awful road traffic accident. The driver of the vehicle hit multiple stationary cars before speeding out of a junction and ploughed into their car, instantly writing their car off and resulting in the emergency services cutting my already disabled Mother out of the vehicle and some minor strains for my Dad. Not a start to Christmas we envisaged as a family.
My amazing Mum already struggles with Osteoporosis, Osteoarthritis along with degenerative disc & facet disease, relying on crutches (twisted leg) to get about and ample medication just to get by with day-to-day life.
This car was a recent purchase to help her, as it was a tall vehicle that she could get in and out of. To clarify, this is an outright purchase and not a vehicle via the PIP Motorbility scheme.
With their permission, I'm hope we can all raise £2k, a fraction of the additional ~£5.5k they paid after part exchange (list price was £10k), to help them purchase another car to assist my Mum in getting around better.
For transparency: No write-off value has been provided by their insurer but THEY WILL get something back, so there's potential of donations exceeding their pay-out, hence the lower target. In the unlikely event we surpass the target, then my hope is they can get one better than this car they loved.
If you can dig deep for the remaining pennies and silver in your pocket to help two of the most honest, hard working and proud people I know, we would be immensely grateful for your support. Have a lovely Christmas and drive safely. None of us deserves this.
