Story
The Friends of Great Denham (FOGD) is the Parent Teacher Association for Great Denham Primary School and was formed in early 2013, not long after the school opened. They support the school in building memorable and exciting moments into school life to enrich students’ lives.
In the past, they have helped purchase things like the mini running track, materials for the Forest School, playground equipment, sensory equipment, new musical instruments, new books, and coaches for the students to attend events. This year, a big part of the funds are contributing towards the school’s pop-up swimming pool and providing swimming lessons to all of the children – a key life skill!
This year, the FOGD is organising a summer festival for all the local community to enjoy whilst raising much needed funds for the school – something they haven’t been able to do since pre-Covid. At the same time, as with many schools around the country, the school is in need of further financial support. That’s why they’re hoping to organise the biggest and best summer festival yet!
We’re working with Local First (a charitable organisation dedicated to making a positive impact in the local community) to raise funds to help with the start-up costs for putting on the event. At the same time, a group of us have committed to a challenge to help contribute to the efforts. This will help increase the potential for a successful fundraising event the whole Great Denham community will enjoy.
We're asking for people to sponsor us in tackling our challenge. Every little bit will contribute directly to the summer festival, which will provide a fun and engaging event for the local community, all whilst raising valuable funds for our school.
Thank you so much for your support!Support for a cause that's close to our heart. We believe that every child deserves a chance to flourish beyond the classroom through enriching extra-curricular activities, but not all families have the means to make this possible for their kids.
To address this, a group of us have committed to a challenge – to raise funds through different methods for our local school's extra-curricular programs. These activities play a crucial role in children's development, providing them with valuable life skills, happy memories, and the joy of exploring their diverse interests.
While we tackle the challenge, we're asking for help. Donations can help bridge the gap for those children whose families struggle with the extra costs. The school is in need of £10,000. Every little bit will contribute directly to allowing a child to participate in sports, arts, science clubs, and more.
Thank you
