While those of us who live in Guernsey are very lucky, when seeking out challenge in a sporting context there are limitations.

When becoming coach of the Guernsey U15 "Star Trophy" team, I wanted to expose our players to competition and environments that can't be replicated locally. Taking players off-island is the most effective way of accomplishing this objective.

In 2024 we want to take a squad of players on two separate trips to play UK opposition. Money raised will help to finance flights, coaches, food, hotels and any other football related activities that time allows.

This trip will not only encourage the group to act and think more collectively, but it will open their eyes to the possibilities on offer elsewhere. It will help them learn to be responsible, not relying on their parents. All of which can help them in life's journey.

Whenever we leave these shores to represent Guernsey, we have an opportunity to market the island, demonstrating that we are part of a strong local community, with a drive to exceed expectations.
