'R' Helen's Fundraiser was created in the name of and in support for our beautiful sister and friend, Helen Dixon.
Sadly in October 2015, Helen was diagnosed with stage 4b adenocarcinoma cervical cancer.
Although we do know it's not curable, Helen has received treatment including chemotherapy to keep this cancer at bay for as long as possible. Helen has had all the treatment her body can take and is now living life to the full and taking each day as it comes.
Helen is a fighter and won't be giving in.
To support her brave fight her family and friends are taking on a 5k obstacle course - Gung Ho! - at temple Newsham on 20th May.
Just like many people in West Leeds, Helen never though this could happen to her and therefore was not prepared. She doesn't own her home or have life insurance.
We have made a commitment to raise funds to build a trust fund for Helens daughters and this 5k challenge is a show of our strength and support to Helen.
So we are doing Gung Ho for R Helen and if you want to sponsor us please do.
